Frequently asked questions

Can Locum provider numbers be renewed? 

NO.

Locum provider numbers are granted for a 6 month period only.

They cannot be renewed. 

What is HPOS? What are the benefits for Doctors?

HPOS (Health Professional Online Services) enables online management of Medicare by the Doctor or via a Delegate (team member).
It enables faster processing of provider numbers, confirming the 10year moratorium and much more. Refer HPOS for Practices (4PR440).
